The Team88 main portal is in quite a miserable state... The fact is, we were not all that busy at all. We just had... well, our own lives. But now that I'm working in Inkscape on a daily basis, and that my programmer friend has stabilized his own affairs, we are moving full speed ahead towards finishing at least the static pages on our Team portal.
One of the interesting ideas I'm having is leaving the under-construction sign indefinitely. I'm thinking about making it part of our brand image. That would mean changing the color of the logo as well, which is not a big deal since our brand hasn't had an official launch anyway.
We will also create our own blog engine for publishing news on our website(s), and that will be particularly interesting because I'm sick and tired of general-purpose all-around solutions that have too much bloat. To be completely fair, the 'bloat' is not really bloat. It's just stuff I never use myself.
Another particularly ambitious project is called the 'Construction Site'. It's a rather complicated (technically) but simple-to-use on-line collaboration system. I've designed the UI myself, and was aiming for maximally fool-proof system, heavily AJAXified and armed with DHTML effects to the teeth. Can't say anything more about it. Team88 members will be notified in due time.
Before will do all that, we are already working on a website for my dear friend Edvard. I think this is going to be a very successful project in a long while, after many poorly-paid and not-so-interesting projects. And there's plenty of work coming our way, too. Good news across the board.
Well, yeah, this also means you won't be hearing from me for a while, apart from an occasional short post from my cigarette breaks...
